Chamber News

The next Chamber of Commerce Meeting is:

**May 22, 2008 - held at the Chamber Building, which is the Information Center building. Meeting starts at 7pm.

All businesses in the Upper Kennebec Valley are welcome to join us at our meetings.
See you there!

Reasons to come to Meetings

If you haven’t been to one in a while, you will have the opportunity to find out what changes have been made. Was there an event, that you wished you could have been involved with? Have you ever thought about why it seems you have no say in how your Chamber is helping the businesses and citizens?

How hard is it, to volunteer, just a small amount of your time, to make the town you live in a better place for you or your family? I bet that you will even reap some rewards by doing this!

As a member, you have the chance to do something to improve the area you live in. At a meeting, you have the right to be heard. If there is something going on, you may be the first the Chamber hears about it. You will find out how the Chamber operates, from the ground up. Who knows? You may even come up with a great suggestion on how to make it better! By attending meetings, there may be a committee that you are really interested in helping, whether it is with time or a financial donation. You will meet the people that work behind the scenes to better your area.

Why not ask if you can help out?

By getting involved, there will be rewards. By accomplishing tasks set forth, you will feel better by the work you have done to make the area a nice place to visit or even move.
Together, we can work toward having more events of the sort that you like — along with those that you think others would like. As a helping hand to carry projects out, and you will realize that you did your best to ensure that they were a success. You have the right to put into office, those who you feel will do the most for the area. The Chamber realizes that it can do more for areas in its stead, but not without the help we seek. We are committed to making the Upper Kennebec Valley, one of the best places in America to visit and to live.
Together, we can make it. Another reason to attend the Chamber Meetings, is for Networking with other business owners. Meeting others in the area, is a big plus. Everyone is going through the exact same things. One may have a great suggestion for you, that will help make your business thrive.
The Chamber is required to hold meetings and to keep minutes. They are public knowledge. You may find out by going to Secretary's Minutes on the links. So, what is stopping you? You do have a voice in the Chamber, but only if you’re there to execute it!
